Description

A guided visit of the Doge's Palace, which for centuries was the seat of Venetian political power. In its splendid rooms, adorned with hundreds of pictorial masterpieces, the Doge and his Council controlled the fate of a republic with a history stretching back thousands of years.

Be amazed by the richness of detail of the Golden Staircase and the realism of the scenes depicted by the many artists who have decorated this building, which an expert guide will explain to you in great detail.

Your guide will take you to the Bridge of Sighs, a passageway that leads you directly to the dank and dark prison cells of the Doge's Palace. The bridge is famous because prisoners would sigh as they crossed it, admiring sadly a free world for the last time.

Also visit one of the most majestic cathedrals in the world, St Mark's Basilica, known as the Golden Basilica! You will enjoy a complete tour of this masterpiece of Byzantine art, the only one of its kind in Italy. You will have the pleasure of savouring the splendid golden mosaics and marble inlays on the floors, while your guide explains the biblical scenes depicted, the history and the special features of this ancient Basilica.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to access the Terrace of the Basilica. From this spectacular location you can admire the most beautiful view of the heart of Venice: St Mark's Square. Then discover St Mark's Museum to admire the Quadriga (the original horses overlooking St. Mark’s Square).

Your ticket also includes access to the Royal Palace (Correr Museum), Marciana Library and National Archaeological Museum, which you can visit on your own and where you can discover the lifestyle of Venice in the past by entering spaces such as Empress Sissi's rooms and Napoleon's ballroom.

An unmissable and unforgettable visit!
